Kim and Todd are getting married!

Yes, Kim and Todd are getting married in a few weeks so we went to take some engagement photos yesterday. So much fun. They are a beautiful couple and I can't wait for the wedding. Here are a few of my favorites.
The ring.
This is one of my favorite places to shoot. That ivy is great.
Aren't they beautiful together?
This staircase is always a fun shot.
A sexy one...
...and a sweet one.
I shot this one with my Lensbaby. It's so vintage isn't it?
They both have amazing eyes!
Thanks for spending the afternoon with me. I hope you love your photos as much as I do!

Baseball!

The Boys of Summer were out today but it sure didn't feel like summer :)
Stepping up to bat.
The Pitcher.
Timing is everything.
I never get the catcher making a throw :) Lucky me.
Love the expression.

Wedding Rings

Last weekend I was playing with my new macro and thought I would see If I could shoot the inscriptions on our wedding rings. The answer is yes.

Love is patient...

Flowers

My wonderful husband sent me some tulips for Valentine's day last weekend so I took them out and photographed them. Actually...I sat them by the front door and photographed them with some pretty window light.
The macro again. Love that depth of field...or lack of :)
Shooting into the light makes the flowers glow.
Love the curve of the leaves.

Recipe Cards

Last night was the citrus themed supper club. So good. Every dish had to have some citrus in it.
Here are the recipes:
I was in charge of the Appetizer. Guacamole has lime juice in it :)
buy my Guacamole recipe here.

The freebies were below but the links have been removed. If you are a friend or family member and you want the recipe cards. Let me know I will e-mail them to you. I know you apprecaite my time and talent. Otherwise...due to the lack of common courtesy by the people downloading and not saying thank you...the freebies are gone...forever. Sorry. It makes me mad that people can't leave a simple thank you. I don't ask for much and I spent a lot of time creating the cards.

Mercedes brought drinks.
download the Arnold Palmer Iced Tea Recipe here or buy a printed card here.

Cindy's Orange Rice Pilaf was fantastic.
download here or buy here

Tracey brought some yummy Roasted Tomatoes.
Roasted Tomato Recipe is free here or purchased here.

And for dessert...Key Lime Pie by Diana.
Download your freebie here or purchase a print here.

I haven't gotten the recipe for the main dish yet, but I'll post a card when I do because it was really scrumptious. Speaking of my recipe cards. I've been posting them here for you to download for free for a few weeks and last time I posted a card there were 69 downloads. Which is very cool but no one left any love. No thank you's and no smileys. I was pretty disappointed and not too motivated to make more free cards. It's pretty sad to have to ask people to say thanks :( First time ever I've used a sad face on my blog and hopefully the last. If you download, please leave me some love. More love = more free cards.

Natalie

Yesterday Natalie and I went to the park to test out my new 85 1.2 lens. She was a fabulous model and we had a lot of fun. Natalie is a former student and she's just wonderful. Check out the best of our photo shoot.
I'll start off with probably my favorite photo. I just love, love, LOVE her eyes in this one. Just that tiny touch of gold from her sweater and feather in her hair really brings out the gold in her eyes.
Aged. This was the first series of photos we took and as soon as I snapped the photo I thought of adding a little texture and color to make it look like a old snapshot. Thank you shadowhouse creations for your awesome textures.
Grunged. Another photo where I added some texture but this time I wanted to desaturate the image a little.
Some more filters. I think they really work well with the rock wall.
A little black and white. I didn't change too many of her photos to black and white because I really loved the way her yellow sweater and feather worked with our location, but this one...so perfect in black and white.
So we found this great tree.
Wistful. I'm usually a look right at the camera kind of photographer but I think this one's really nice.
Love the framing.
Checkout those eyes! She is a seriously beautiful girl.
She could be a model!
Thanks Natalie for helping me out. You rock!

A little corporate work

I did a little work for a lawyer the other day. He needed some photos illustrating the story "Last Rites" I went out to an old cemetery and spent some time walking around with my lensbaby. I felt like that would be a nice way to give the photos a little different look. If you want to see my photo on his page click here, and if you need a labor lawyer for any reason...Russ Cawyer is great.
I love the way the lens distorts the edges. I can't use it all the time but sometimes it's perfect for the effect I want to create.
Prayer.
The angel.
I combined a few photos to make this one.
This one's a little different. I like how the bed of rocks reminds me of clouds.
I shot a few with my telephoto as well so he would have some choices. I'm all about choices :)
This is the one he went with.
