Recipe Cards

Last night was the citrus themed supper club. So good. Every dish had to have some citrus in it.
Here are the recipes:
I was in charge of the Appetizer. Guacamole has lime juice in it :)
buy my Guacamole recipe here.

The freebies were below but the links have been removed. If you are a friend or family member and you want the recipe cards. Let me know I will e-mail them to you. I know you apprecaite my time and talent. Otherwise...due to the lack of common courtesy by the people downloading and not saying thank you...the freebies are gone...forever. Sorry. It makes me mad that people can't leave a simple thank you. I don't ask for much and I spent a lot of time creating the cards.

Mercedes brought drinks.
download the Arnold Palmer Iced Tea Recipe here or buy a printed card here.

Cindy's Orange Rice Pilaf was fantastic.
download here or buy here

Tracey brought some yummy Roasted Tomatoes.
Roasted Tomato Recipe is free here or purchased here.

And for dessert...Key Lime Pie by Diana.
Download your freebie here or purchase a print here.

I haven't gotten the recipe for the main dish yet, but I'll post a card when I do because it was really scrumptious. Speaking of my recipe cards. I've been posting them here for you to download for free for a few weeks and last time I posted a card there were 69 downloads. Which is very cool but no one left any love. No thank you's and no smileys. I was pretty disappointed and not too motivated to make more free cards. It's pretty sad to have to ask people to say thanks :( First time ever I've used a sad face on my blog and hopefully the last. If you download, please leave me some love. More love = more free cards.

Recipe Cards

Supper Club was last weekend and we had a chili cook-off. I've already posted my chili recipe and you can find it here. But before I get to the free recipe card let me show you a new one that's available in the store to add to your collection.

I also made a new card for a chicken stew I made for dinner tonight. It's been cold and we are trying to eat home more often so I threw together some stew for dinner. It turned out pretty tasty and I thought I might like to make it again so I took a photo and made a recipe card before I could forget what I did. If you like chicken and you want something a little different try this stew.
You can purchase a recipe card here. If you prefer to keep you recipes on your computer instead of printing them out you can get a download in the store. Choose the recipe, click on the buy tab and then instead of choosing prints choose downloads. Downloads can be stored on you hard drive or printed out.

My contribution to the supper club Chili Cook-Off menu was dessert and since we had our mouths on fire from the chili I thought something nice and light and cool would be a good idea. I made one of my favorite desserts called an Icebox Eclair. My mom used to make a version of this when I was a kid and it's so great but this is a little lighter and healthier version. My mom's version used full-fat pudding made with whole milk, regular whipped topping and a can of chocolate icing. So good! This version uses sugar-free/fat free pudding which I make with skim milk, light whipped topping and the chocolate glaze is definitely not icing :)
Sorry, freebie expired, but you can purchase a printed copy in my store.

New Recipe Cards

Christmas Eve we had planned to have 14 people over for dinner but we had our first white Christmas since 1926 and the roads were not safe to travel. I still cooked the food since it would spoil if I didn't and now we have lots of frozen leftovers for those nights when I just don't feel like cooking :)

Here are my new recipe cards. Three are going straight to the store and two you get for free! Get them now if you are collecting them because I'll move them to the store in about a week.

Enjoy!

My first card is an appetizer. I make it often and it is so good. Even kids like it. They are so easy to make and taste like mini pizza!

This was the first time I made this Chicken Parmesan. It was a little more complicated than what I would normally make but it was so worth it. We've been eating the leftovers for two days now and it's just as good leftover as it was right out of the oven. I make the chicken and didn't put the sauce on top so we have had the chicken cut up in salad and on the leftover garlic bread as a sandwich. So good!
buy the Chicken Parmesan Recipe Card here.

Of course no meal is complete without dessert! This one can be made so healthy and you don;t know it. It calls for brownies which I make with applesauce instead of oil and then I use fat-free, sugar free pudding, low fat cream cheese, skim milk and splenda. You will be amazed at how great this trifle tastes with all those low-call ingredients! It's my own concoction and we love it!
buy the Cherry Cheesecake Trifle Recipe Card here.

Now for your free cards.

An appetizer that is quick and easy to make. I spread it pretty thinly on 4 tortillas but if you want a lot of filling you have to double the filling in the recipe. Another tip: don't spread the filling al the way to the edges on the tortilla, just make a rectangle in the middle so that when you roll it up yo can cut off the round ends and have pretty spirals.
sorry, download link is expired but you can still buy a printed card here.

Manicotti is one of my favorites but I don't make it often because it is time consuming to stuff all those shells. The shells are easier to stuff if they are not cooked but if you precook the shells it speeds up the cooking time. This dish freezes really well so I almost always double the recipe and freeze a pan for later.
sorry, download link is expired but you can still buy a printed card here.

Recipe Cards

Wow. I've been such a slacker and I didn't upload the recipes from October's Supper club. I finally had some free time this evening so I made the cards and uploaded them to 4Shared for my collectors.

Speaking of collecting I think since I opened up on online store I'm going to start offering my cards for sale in the store. I'll put them on my blog free for a few days then I'll move them to the store where you can purchase them to add to your collection. Don't worry. I won't change all the links to the free cards on my blog tonight, I'll give you a few days to collect them all for free first.

Now for the Harvest Feast recipes. Some of these might be great for Thanksgiving as well. The two appetizers were amazing and the dessert was fabulous. I'm not a huge beef eater myself but the Pot Roast was sweet with a bit of a kick and so very tender and tasty. Enjoy!

Don't forget to get all the rest of the cards you want for free before they go into the store soon. Then you be able to either download the file and print it at home or you can order a print for about $1. If you are already interested in getting printed recipe cards you can already get them in the store.

Recipe Cards

I've finally finished making all the recipe cards I have recipes for from the Soda Pop Supper Club. Here are the last two.

Obviously the drink is tasty but don't turn your nose up at the Diet Coke Nachos until you try them. They are actually fabulous. The soda makes the chicken sweet and the peppers are spicy so you you get this sweet-spicy flavor that is fantastic. Thanks Stacy for introducing us to the joy of chicken cooked in Diet Coke!

Soda Pop Recipe Cards

I have finally gotten around to making a few recipe cards from the last supper club. I still have a few to go but here's the main dish which was a super tender Pepsi Pork Roast, some amazing biscuits made with Sprite and dessert. Dessert was an amazing blackberry cobble made with Cream Soda.

Soda Pop!

Tonight's supper club was full of bubbles! Everything had to have some sort of soda pop in the recipe. Then we had eight different sodas to taste. It was pretty fun I have to admit but I've decided that fruit flavored sodas are nothing more than liquid candy...I've got quite the sugar buzz going right now!

Here's a little sample of our soda tasting. Mandarin Orange Soda, Fitz's Premium Grape Pop and Stewart's Key Lime Fountain Classic. We also had a root beer, a ginger ale, a pineapple soda, a vanilla soda and a bubble gum flavored Jones Cola.
A fun picture of Tracy tasting the grape soda.
Finally here's my recipe from the evening.

Recipe Card

The rain the last few days has had me craving chili so I made some for dinner tonight, and of course I took a photo and made a recipe card to add to my collection and yours if you are collecting the recipe cards. I like to serve it with a sprinkling of cheese on top.

More Recipe Cards

Are you collecting them all? I printed them and put them in a red tin recipe box I had gotten for Christmas last year and I think they look fabulous. I hope you like them too.

Here are my recipes from the Restaurant Remakes Supper Club. I was in charge of the main dish so I chose a copycat recipe for Buca Di Beppo Chicken Marsala. Shockingly, it has no mushrooms in it. I also made an appetizer that I absolutely love, Central Market's Love Dip. If you've never had Love Dip, you don't know what you are missing. This is a pretty good copy and I love it with red bell pepper strips.

Recipe Cards

Sunday was supper club so here are a few recipe cards for your collections. The theme for the evening was Restaurant Remakes so we found copycat recipes for things we like from different restaurants.

Brandon was in charge of making the soup and he chose Tomato-Basil Soup from La Madeline and he served it with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches like are served at Hattie's Restaurant. It was tasty and could have been a meal in itself.

Tracy brought a side and she chose this spoonbread like is served in several Grady Spear's restaurants in the area. It was tasty.
buy the Spoonbread Recipe Card here.

Stacy made some fabulous Bellini's like were invented in Harry's bar in Italy. Instead of the raspberry puree we used whole raspberries. So good.

More recipe cards will come as I receive the recipes. I made Chicken Marsala and Love Dip so those cards will be posted as soon as I can get them uploaded.

Another Recipe Card

Here's the last recipe card from last Sunday's Fourth of July Picnic themed Supper club. If you are collecting them all then you have the entire meal now.

buy the Broccoli Salad Recipe Card here.

I hope you are enjoying the recipe cards. The first set was downloaded quite a few times. I don't know how long I'm going to leave the cards up for free so get them while you can!

*I've now changed the links so that the cards are free for a week or so then they go into the store for $1.

More Recipe Cards

Here are a few more recipe cards from our Fourth of July picnic Supper Club. Diana made the oven fried chicken and it was very good. There was just enough spice to give it a good flavor. To make it less spicy you could use plain breadcrumbs instead of the ones called for in the recipe. Brandon made the corn on the cob and said he got the cotija cheese at Whole Foods in the specialty cheese section.

Supper Club Recipe Cards

Last night was a wonderful supper club. The theme was Fourth of July Picnic and my assignment was to bring drinks. Since I was busy shooting the wedding over the weekend and I had to drive 6 hours back to the metroplex sunday I needed to make something easy. Here is my recipe card for Cherry Lemonade. Again, the cards are sized 4x6 inches so you can download them and print them out to fit in a standard recipe box.

My wonderful friend Mercedes was in charge of dessert and she made a Pear Streusel Cake. Yummy. She said you could use apples instead of pears if you like.

I'm working on the recipe cards for the rest of the dishes and I will post them as soon I get finished. I believe you will see recipes for Spicy Oven Fried Chicken, Grilled Corn and a fantastic Broccoli Salad. I hope you are enjoying the cards. Leave me a comment and let me know.

Recipe Project Continued

I've created a few more recipe cards for my collection. We have a garden in the backyard that yields lots of tomatoes so I have to find lots of different ways to cook them.

The first recipe is for homemade tomato sauce. If you have never made tomato sauce before don't be afraid. It's very easy, just don't be surprised...it takes a lot of tomatoes to make a small amount of sauce. It is so good though. I'm sure you could use canned crushed tomatoes but I like to use the fresh ones from the garden.
buy the Tomato Sauce Recipe Card here.

We also have an abundance of cucumbers so I created this light salad to try to use them up. Cucumbers, tomatoes and basil. Yummy. Sometimes I make with mozzarella cheese for an Italian feel and other times I make it with feta and oregano for a Greek dinner.
buy the Tomato Cucumber Salad Recipe Card here.

Enjoy!

Another Recipe Card

Here's another free recipe card I created. These are some sugared pecans that I like to make to top salads although they are tasty as a snack by themselves. I made these last week for my supper club and I could not stop eating them when they were warm from the oven. Have you ever had the warm sugared nuts from the street vendors in New York City? That's what these remind me of. Yummy!
buy the Sweet Coated Pecans recipe card here.

What do you think of my little recipe card project? I'm out of food photos right now so I guess I'll have to do some more cooking so I have some more photos to make cards from!

More Recipe Cards

Here are a few more recipe cards from my project. Again, they are sized to download and print at 4x6 inches. The links will send you to my store. I like them printed on lustre photo paper but you could also download them and print them at home on card stock to create a nice recipe card that's a little more like a traditional recipe card.

buy the Greek Pasta Recipe Card here.

I took the photos for these cards in my backyard. If you are interested in creating a cool recipe card file for a bridal shower gift contact me. You can send me your favorite family recipes and photos and I'll turn them into an amazing personalized gift. They can also be created without the photos, but I like the photos so kids can help me choose recipes they will like.

Recipe Project

I've been toying with the idea of creating recipe cards for a while now because I never seems to follow a recipe exactly as it is written so when I go to cook again I can't remember what I changed. I also make a lot of things from recipes I find in magazines, newspapers and from the internet but I hate how the they are never uniform in size, some have photos, the paper is thin etc. I started taking photos of the food I make a few weeks ago and I finally had some time to sit own and create a few recipe cards. They are created to fit into a 4x6 recipe card box so you can download them and print them out as a 4x6 photo or just buy the 4x6 photo card from my store.

I created the cards using photoshop. The fonts are Dymo and Arial. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
