Emily and Anthony's Fort Worth Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing the wedding of one of my former students. I was so excited to be a part of Emily and Anthony's big day. They met in high school, went to separate colleges, graduated and stayed together finally getting married in November. My heart smiles every time I think about it. I posted a little sneak peek the day after their wedding but here's the full story :)

Emily got ready at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth. She was in the Van Cliburn Suite where there is this super cool window. The light in this room was amazing.

 The rings. Her maid of honor had gotten her a wedding day cupcake, so me being the cupcake queen...I had to put it in at least one photo. It was red velvet...Emily is lucky I didn't eat it while she wasn't looking ;)

Going to the Chapel.  Emily arrived ready except fr her veil because she and Anthony had planned a first look and photos outside just before sunset. Love that.

 And we were off to do the first look. The minute Emily stepped outside she started to cry. Then all these amazing things happened. Anthony was thrilled to see her, wiped away her tears, grabbed her and kissed her. Love, love, LOVE!

 Really fun. :) The guy on the far left...that's Andy, Emily's brother and he was in my class too.

  Everyone shoots the bride with the flowers, but I thought these flowers were such a great color to photograph against the black tux. Now...I like the two photo side by side. It wasn't what I had planned when I shot it but I like it!

 Now that the wedding is over I can share a few bridals.

 So the wedding was at Marty Leonard Chapel in Fort Worth and Emily walked down the aisle to Trumpet Voluntary played by a friend who was in the Summit Band with them when they met. How cool is that?!

 I love the way he looks at her. Every photo I have of them Anthony is looking at Emily with love in his eyes. Doesn't every girl dream of a man that looks at her just like this? She's the most important thing in his life and is shows in his expression.

Immediately after the ceremony they stole a little kiss. Sweet.

 Then it was off to the reception at the Petroleum Club. The room was gorgeous with baby's breath and lilies and the table numbers were made with their engagement photos that I took. You can see the Petroleum Club from their hotel suite so I photographed that earlier in the day.

 They were introduced and went right into their first dance.

Thier reception fit them perfectly. They chose the Marc Toussaint Combo with a big band sound to play and it was amazing. I'm a huge fan of a band at a wedding and this one did not disappoint.

 There's that look again. He just can't keep his eyes off her and that smile. I love a happy groom :)

Cuteness overload.

This evening I spent some time with 10-week-old Emily. She's the sweetest, cutest little baby ever. It doesn't hurt that she's the daughter of one of my favorite former students ever...I'm not biased...see for yourself, she's adorable.

 Glitter toes. I hear daddy has an aversion to glitter so it's a good thing he stayed home. By the time we were done...Emily was quite sparkly. Seriously though, what girl doesn't deserve to sparkle ;)

Really...it is family portriat time!

One more blog post for today from the many family sessions I've photographed in the last few weeks. This one is Will and Jenn and their sweet boy, Drew. I photographed their wedding last July and now some family portraits with their cute little man.

It actually looks like fall here in Texas, of course it's December, but I'll take fall whenever I can get it. I love photos with different colored leaves and if I can get the kids to play in them...even better :) Drew's a little young to be playing in the leaves yet, but next year...

It's Family Portriat Time!

I've been so busy I've fallen behind on my blogging, but tonight I edited some family portraits I am just in love with...so I'm taking time out to share. Art and Stacy met me at one of my favorite shooting spots with their amazing kids one Sunday morning a few weeks ago. This is what we captured. Enjoy :)

I love this family.

So this place I like to shoot has had a bunch of other photographers there lately and now I have to work around all the chalk they have used to mark up the perfectly weathered metal walls. Seriously, if you are a photographer and you are working in a public place, please be respectful of all the other people who might be working there too, and don't mess it up. I know that you see all kinds of great ideas other photographers had on Pinterest, but please, be original. Have a creative thought of your own...and leave the beauty nature creates alone. I decided I might as well use the heart that someone else didn't bother to erase when they were done with their engagement session but I have to do quite a bit of work in Photoshop to remove the initials inside it. I don;t mind the heart in this photo, but I don't want it in all my photos and neither do you I'm sure. It's just as easy to add it in Photoshop...easier to add then to remove actually. But I digress...off my soapbox and back to the pretty pictures :)

 This is Jake. He's a little bundle of energy...and he's a lot of fun to photograph. I think this captures him perfectly.

 This...this is Julia. She's been modeling for me since she was about a year old. Oh how time flies. She's looking so grown up now...

 ...and more beautiful each time I see her. Julia can model for me anytime.

 ...and dad. He's pretty great too...well, except for that maroon stuff he made them change into ;) I love to give him a hard time about his Aggies and he gives it right back to me about my Red Raiders.
